COSTEFF presents solutions for financially sustainable healthcare

On 4 May the European alliance for cost efficiency in healthcare (COSTEFF) organised a panel debate in the European Parliament hosted by Jorgo Chatzimarkakis MEP (ALDE, GER) in cooperation with the Parliament Magazine.
The objective was to discuss how the transition towards financially sustainable healthcare can be accelerated by Ambient Assisted Living.

BRÜSSEL (spe). Politiker, Fachleute und Patientenverbände haben in Brüssel gefordert, innovativen Instrumenten mehr Spielraum bei der Versorgung einzuräumen. Angesichts des erwarteten GKV-Defizits sei das dringender denn je, sagte Edwin Kohl, Gründer der Kohlpharma GmbH und Vorsitzender von Costeff, einem neuen Verband zur Kosteneffizienz im Gesundheitswesen.

Brussels, 14 October 2009 – COSTEFF, a new association of companies in the pharmaceuticals and homecare sectors, officially inaugurated its alliance yesterday with a vow to help make medicines more affordable and improve the quality of healthcare throughout the European Union.
Speakers at the COSTEFF inauguration included Edwin Kohl, Chairman of COSTEFF, Jo Leinen MEP, Chairman of the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) Committee and Jérôme Boehm, on behalf of Andrzej Jan Rys, Director in DG SANCO, European Commission.
